Peter Schaefer joined Legacy in 2018 as a Trust Investment Officer, later advancing to the position of Vice President in 2021. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural and Consumer Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Peter also carries the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations. With over a decade’s experience, he excels in providing financial, retirement planning, and wealth management services to both affluent and emerging clients.

Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, Peter resided in Chicago for over a decade before relocating to Neenah, which instilled a deep-rooted affinity for Illinois sports teams. Together with his wife, Laura, they are proud parents of two sons, Oliver and Mason. Beyond his professional life and sports fandom, Peter enjoys playing golf and making trips to Wyoming for skiing and hiking. His dedication to community service is reflected in his role as a member of The Oshkosh Community Foundation Finance Committee.
