Paul Griesbach joined our investment group in 2015, bringing with him a diverse background including 18 years of investment and finance related experience. He completed his BBA in at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and holds a number of investment-related course certificates, most recently from London Financial Studies in modern asset allocation. Prior to joining Legacy Private Trust, Paul began his investment career at Thrivent Financial as a Business & Reporting Analyst in Investment Operations. As opportunities arose, Paul quickly moved into areas of research supporting commercial mortgage and fixed income investments. Paul is using his expertise in quantitative research and portfolio risk management as a member of Legacy’s portfolio management team.
A native resident of the Fox Valley (Greenville to be specific), Paul was raised on a family dairy farm and spent his summer vacations working in his grandfather’s water conditioning business. Through these and other experiences, the value of customer care and taking personal ownership was imparted early on. He uses his take charge attitude to lead the Hortonville boys’ basketball booster club while at the same time serving as a coach for youth basketball teams for over a decade. When talking to Paul, you quickly learn that his ethics, values and personal integrity make you confident that he is the perfect person to mentor youth and serve as a role model that the boys can look up to (literally too – Paul is 6’ 4”). When Paul, his wife of 21 years and their two sons aren’t attending a basketball game, they enjoy traveling to places that offer spectacular views of nature such as Niagara Falls and Yellowstone National Park. Paul is also known to be an outdoor enthusiast, spending time in the fall with his family and friends stalking grouse and deer. You can also find him on the range enjoying a round or two of competitive trap shooting.
Since starting at Legacy as a member of the investment team, Paul’s entrepreneurial spirit has been displayed by implementing new methods within the investment department to conduct performance analysis and research into how portfolio construction impacts investment results. Paul, while detail oriented, systematic and analytical, has an engaging and likeable personality, a great blend of attributes in a business such as ours. He has commented that he handles his work as if it were his personal business by taking personal ownership and doing whatever is necessary to provide value to our clients.
