Legacy Spotlight

David W. Trotter
Trust and Investment Officer

David is the newest (and youngest) member of our investment group and has been serving as a portfolio manager since 2012, although his passion for investment management spans over a decade. He began his education concentrating on asset management and financial analysis as he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in finance in Marquette's Applied Investment Management Program. Prior to joining Legacy in 2012, he
served as a Vice President at an investment management firm in Milwaukee, managing portfolios for institutional and high-net worth clients. He completed the grueling testing requirements to achieve the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA®).
Outside of work, David likes to be active while spending time outdoors. As a new father, he looks forward to teaching his son to play his favorite sports of soccer, tennis and golf. For now, Baby William has to settle on being carried on hikes through the woods until he is old enough to participate on his own. As college basketball season approaches, the Trotter family will be gearing up to cheer the Marquette University Golden Eagles on to success
as the Big East Conference Division 1 champions.
A uniquely and uncommonly thoughtful and mature young man, David has shown Legacy clients that he is experienced beyond his years. His 'can-do' attitude has made him a very valuable and respected part of the Legacy team. Clients find his magnetic personality and his obvious enjoyment of what he does offers them confidence that their portfolios are in capable hands.
